Grizzlies ~ 6027/234
When evaluating MidFielders, these are the Attributes to which I pay most particular attention:
Run Defense ~ Processing Speed, Power, Agility, and Mechanics as he Works Traffic and of course Tackling.
Pass Coverage ~ Processing Speed, Agility, and Verticity. Tackling.
Pass Rush ~ Power, Agility, and Mechanics.
Intangibles ~ Processing Speed, Field Vision, and Motor.
Pass Coverage ~ Competitive. Quick to Read & React, though not so quick to Turn & Burn effectively.
Pass Rush ~ Mediocre. Great Motor, but not remarkable in any other Aspect of this Aspect.
Intangibles ~ Extraordinary. Tripp is by all accounts a voracious Competitor who busts his @$$ relentlessly. Mind you: his Diagnostic Acuity needs Work, but if he can bring his Mastery of the Game up to speed, he could become amazing, because his Processing Speed is outstanding. Tripp plays the Game with relentless Ferocity.
His Processing Speed and his Motor, on the other hand, are phenomenal.
Based on his unremarkable Agility and Core Power, I'd probably grade Tripp as a Reserve.
But his relentless Intensity and his Processing Speed render'm intriguing.
I'm not sure I'd trust'm on all 3 Downs, though. I'm not convinced that he's got enough Verticity ~ that's Turn & Burn Acuity, to you Earthlings ~ to play effective Pass Coverage consistently. If his Diagnostics catch up to his Processing Speed, I believe that Tripp could play Zone very well, indeed, but I'm far less confident in his Capacity to play Man Coverage.
There is definite Potential, here.
And I suspect that it might include a positional change.
I see Tripp as a moderately Agile and moderately Powerful Prospect whose Potential Impact is predicated mostly on his extraordinary Motor and Processing Speed. And I'm thinking that if he gets the right kind of coaching, his Diagnostic Acuity is indeed going to catch up to his outstanding Processing Speed...and that, to me, translates to "MidFielder."
That's "Middle LineBacker", to your Earhtlings.
Jordan Tripp is a natural-born Field General. Put that Processing Speed and voracious Motor together with some top shelf Coaching, get that Diagnostic Acuity up to speed, and I can easily foresee'm taking command of a Defense for the next decade. And his Energy on Tape is incredible: This is the kind of guy who inspires his TeamMates.
Just don't put'm in Man Coverage.
Thanks, as always, to the extraordinary Work by the men of Draft BreakDown!!
