Defensive Tackles are perhaps my favorites Beasts on the Field.
And they are the most important Defenders, regardless of what the Clowns on TeleVision may say.
When evaluating Defensive Tackles, these are the Attributes to which I pay most particular attention:
Launch Velocity ~ How rapidly do they Burst Off The Snap?
Core Strength ~ How Stout are they at the Point of Attack ~ how well can they hold their Ground?
Drive Power ~ How much Onslaught can they bring ~ how well can they drive their man back?
Combat ~ How effective are they with their Hands ~ their Punch & Placement?
Fluidity ~ How Sinuous are they with their moves, as they try to get free and make a Play?
Lateral Agility ~ How Adept are they at skittering right and left to respond as the Play develops?
Stamina ~ How's their Closing Burst? And can they keep up the Pace for 4 Quarters for 20 Weeks?
Core Strength ~ Decent.
Drive Power ~ Adequate.
Combat ~ Mediocre. Inconsistent Hands.
Fluidity ~ Awful.
Lateral Agility ~ Not bad, actually.
Stamina ~ Weak. Good Motor, but Jenkins is beset with major Endurance issues, and often fades out dramatically.
