Positive: Undersized college defensive end who projects to outside linebacker in the NFL. Explosive, plays with good pad level, and fluid moving down the line of scrimmage to string plays laterally. Plays with good quickness, easily changes direction, and squeezes through double-team blocks to make plays behind the line of scrimmage.
Negative: Needs to improve his technique. Easily controlled at the point by a single blocker. Primarily used up the field and rarely asked to drop into space.
Analysis: Addison was a productive pass rusher the only year he started at Troy and offers the size/speed numbers as well as the athleticism to make the transition to outside linebacker."
Northeast Mississippi C.C.: Addison committed to Troy out of Tarrant, but wound up at Northeast Mississippi because of academics. Coaches put the 220-pound freshman at linebacker, where he excelled. Bulking up to 235 pounds, Addison recorded 46 tackles, including 10 for a loss, and picked off two passes. The old skills came back when he returned one interception for a touchdown.
He continued to improve at the position, contributing 60 tackles that included 21 1⁄ 2 for a loss. There were plenty of offers, but Addison decided to keep his commitment to the Trojans.
2008: He was redshirted.
2009: He saw action as a special teams player and backup defensive end in 13 games last season, recording 1 1/2 sacks and six tackles for loss.
2010:35 solo tackles, 12 assists, 15.5 TFL, 10.5 sacks, 1 PD, 3 FF and 3 QB Hurries.
Strengths: Addison has near elite physical tools, and can really get after a QB. he played most of the season wearing a club. He broke a hand against UAB. He played a bit the previous season, but was behind Sheffield and Lang. This past season was injury-marred for the TROY defense, but Addison is a hustle guy with good technique, he does a consistent job of fighting through the trash and he's a team player.
Weaknesses: He has played some LB in JC but is clearly raw in pass drops, he will have to prove he's no 1 year wonder and become more powerful and diverse as a pass rush artist.
Projection: Addison is much like Larry English but did not have the same type of production as English, but he's a bit quicker, great workouts could propel him to the 3rd round compensatories, poor workouts could send hem to the end of the draft."
