Has strong hands, good focus when reaching for the ball and is not a fumbling threat. Can extend the field and is a deep threat not because of his speed, but his ability to stick a foot in the ground and jump off one leg at full speed and extend for the ball.
Does a nice job slow playing his route off the line and using his quickness to avoid the bump and accelerating down the field. Will use his hands well at times to keep himself clean once he gains a step and exhibits a "plus" initial burst to his game.
Exhibits good play speed when tracking the football as well, adjusts well to the football, extends his arms and looks natural running under the catch.
Showcases solid leaping ability, routinely going up and getting the football; he possesses the balance to keep his feet under him and explode toward the throw. However, is still developing as a route runner. Isn't real sharp or precise in and out of his breaks.
Plays a lot from the slot and has a tendency to really run through his breaks and isn't' real sharp or sudden when trying to set up corners. Is at his best avoiding contact as a vertical route runner, but is still developing on his sharply breaking routes.
Displays some run after the catch ability. Keeps his pad level down and will keep his feet through contact if defenders don't wrap. However, doesn't strike me as a dynamic athlete in space. Plays like a mid 4.4 guy with some short area quickness when trying to avoid defenders down the field.
However, looks like a guy who could have a tough tome defeating press in the NFL because of his size and physical make-up, looks better suited for the slot. Will catch the football, a natural plucker who extends well.
Is coming off season ending knee and hand surgeries in 2010 and needs to check out medially.
Impression: A natural plucker of the football with the quicks to avoid contact and accelerate. However, isn't a big time dynamic athlete to do the same in the NFL consistently and isn't a guy who generates a ton of separation on sharply breaking routes."
Good initial quickness and acceleration off the line — runs routes with good posture and can sink his hips and get in and out of breaks.
Good hands but caan show more confidence (too often cradles and goes to the ground to secure the catch).
Average burst, elusiveness, and run strength after the catch.
Needs to improve functional strength and is just an adequate blocker.
Questionable decision maker as a punt returner, but can hit a crease and go the distance when he catches cleanly.
Could be effective with simplified assignments and add a vertical dimension as an "X" receiver."
Not very big or physical and struggles to beat the jam; also isn’t going to break many tackles in the open field, but is very quick with an explosive first step; also has good hands and runs crisp routes;
Caught 53 passes in 2009 when he also averaged 13.5 yards per punt return; durability is an issue though as he had season-ending hand surgery last fall after missing the early part of the season with a sprained knee."
Strengths: Speed, versatile kick returner, receiver and running back out of the slot with game-breaking ability.
Weaknesses: Lacks durability.
Projection: Must determine status for 2011."
