Is patient inside when asked to run in tight areas and does a nice job allowing his blockers to set up. However, isn't real fluid or explosive in and out of his breaks. Keeps his feet under him and displays average footwork, but lacks a great initial burst once he gains a step and doesn't have any kind of second gear once he gets into the open field. Isn't going to make anyone miss or routinely break tackles in the NFL.
Has a number of character concerns as well and has been suspended multiple times from the ECU team due to various run-ins with the law.
Impression: His lacking athletic ability plus his character concerns keep him from getting into an NFL camp."
Positive: Well-sized skill player who is effective carrying the ball or catching it out of the backfield. Picks and chooses his way on the inside, has some elusiveness, and flashes the ability to break tackles. Solid receiver out of the backfield and effectively adjusts to the errant throw. Looks the ball into his hands.
Negative: Possesses just an average burst and cannot run to daylight. Not a fluid cutback runner.
Analysis: Williams put together a terrific senior campaign after injury- and suspension-shortened seasons prior to '10. He looks like a potential third-down back/situational runner at the next level and has the skills to play in the NFL if he remains focused."
