Possesses good, not great speed and will struggle to fight his way through contact and accelerate past corners down the field once they can get their hands on him. However, does a nice job extending his arms and plucking the football along the sideline, exhibiting the type of body control to keep his feet in bounds and come down with the throw. Possesses a nice combination of wiggle and power after the catch and will create for himself with the ball in his hands. Has played some running back in the past.
Impression: Flashes the kind of suddenness and athleticism you would expect from a former five-star recruit. However, he isn't real polished as a route runner and simply hasn't put it all together at this stage."
Positive: Well-sized possession receiver who makes the difficult reception in the middle of the field. Fluid releasing off the line, knows where he is on the field, and effectively extends to make the reception away from his frame. Makes good use of the sidelines, easily adjusting or contorting to grab the errant throw. Gives effort blocking.
Negative: Inconsistent and will drop some catchable throws. One-speed receiver who lacks a burst.
Analysis: Fayson has the body type and pass-catching skill to make it at the next level as an underneath receiver. He must show immediate productivity this summer to have any chance of making an active roster."
Strengths: Excellent athlete with a ton of (unrealized) potential. Was a contributor on a National Championship team as a freshman at Florida. Has good size/speed combo. Route-running has gradually improved each year. Physical player who can use his strength to beat the jam at the LOS. Gunner on special teams. Former HS QB who is still a threat on the option pass.
Weaknesses: Has been through some tough times (transfer from Florida, death of brother, injuries, inexperienced and inefficient QBs). Never lived up to his potential. Lack of production is a problem. Has trouble getting open, especially against zone coverage. Doesn't seem to read defenses too well. Plays with an apparent lack of urgency.
Projection: Highly rated prep prospect who bounced around positions early in career and never produced at a high level. He's still a quality athlete with some potential, but is unlikely to get drafted. Should end up in someone's camp and could surprise some folks if he dedicates himself to his craft."
