Plays a lot of off-man coverage/zone and isn't real comfortable when asked to sit into his stance. Seems to stay upright into his drop, will get doubled over at the waist trying to sit into his back-pedal and gets leggy trying to click and close on plays in front of him.
Doesn't generate a ton of explosion toward the football either and gives up a lot of competitions underneath him. Also lacks great balance and ball skills when asked to go make a play on the football. Struggles to keep his feet under him at all times, gets overextended too easily and even when he is in position to make a play on the football, lacks the balance to consistently do so.
Doesn't trust himself when asked to turn and run. Has the ability to be physical in zone and get a good bump on receivers down the field. However, he gets upright in his transition, struggles to keep his feet under him in order to get back up to speed quickly and lacks the second gear to routinely keep pace with receivers vertically.
Impression: Isn't a real gifted man-to-man cover guy, lacks the speed needed to make up for a false step and plays too high when asked to click and close on the football."
Positive: Nice-sized cornerback who plays a physical game. Fast up the field, voluntarily defends the run or screen plays, and wraps up when tackling. Remains disciplined in zone assignments. Displays a good break to the action as well as a solid burst of closing speed.
Negative: Possesses poor ball skills. Rarely gets his head back around and constantly face guards.
Analysis: Robinson possesses the size/speed numbers to be a dime back at the next level and has shown skill facing the action. Could be an effective backup in a zone situation."
