However, he always seems to be flowing toward the action and ends up around the football. Now, he isn't a difference maker by any stretch and doesn't make many plays attacking the line of scrimmage. But, he does do a nice job of helping to fill run lanes inside and isn't afraid to stick his head into contact.
Showcases a good overall feel in the pass game and has the ability to locate the football quickly. However, seems to play at one speed and isn't overly fluid when asked to quickly change directions and close on the football. Seems to drift in and out of his breaks.
Impression: Isn't an impact guy by any stretch in any area of the game and is going to have a real tough time making an NFL roster."
2006: redshirt
2007: 16 tackles, 1 FR, 1 FF and a PBU
2008: 44 tackles, 3.5 TFLs, 1 FF, 3 int, 2 other PBUs.
2009: Only started 6 games, and had a down year statistically after starting every game in 2008: 28 tackles, 2 TFLs, half a sack, a pick, and 2 PBUs.
2010: Started all 12 games (pre-bowl) and put up 61 tackles, 8 TFLs, a sack, 1 FF and 9 PBUs.
Strengths: Feisty and will mix it up in the run game. Spies, and has a lot of experience spying QBs and RBs. Zone coverage corner who is aware of his responsibilities and is not usually out of position. Can tackle.
Weaknesses: Not a great makeup guy in coverage. Played what amounted to a boundary corner in some games, and a rover type in others. Not asked to cover elite receivers down the field much, and doesn't have the size or speed to do that well or consistently. In college, he would be lined up near the pack at the snap a lot, and was asked to read run first, then go if pass was indicated.
Projection: Priority UDFA, or surprise late rounder."
