Routinely gives up penetration off his frame and is forced to lunge into defenders, overextend at the point and try to push pass rushers past the quarterback. Displays a strong upper body and can be heavy-handed through contact. However, lacks the balance, bend and athletic ability to mirror through the play. More of a linear athlete who will fall off blocks if asked to slide his feet through space/contact. Gives up a lot of ground off the snap and despite his size lacks anchor strength and can be overwhelmed on contact.
Displays some natural power in the run game and can use his long arms and heavy hands to create a slight surge and stick to blockers. However, he comes off the football too high, doesn't gain any type of leverage and plays from the waist up. Consistently just lunges from the upper body into defenders and can easily be slipped through contact because all his weight is routinely on his toes and ends up on the ground far too quickly.
Impression: Possesses a tall, big frame, but lacks the ability to gain leverage in all areas of the game. Nothing more than a size camp body."
Positive: Large, strong offensive lineman who is best in a small area. Stays square, keeps his feet moving, and controls defenders once engaged at the point of attack. Immediately gets his hands up, anchors in pass protection, and works hard. Makes good use of angles and shows strength as a run blocker.
Negative: Heavy footed, lumbering lineman who E(TM)s ineffective in motion. Not a natural knee bender.
Analysis: Scott possesses terrific size/speed numbers yet does not play to that athleticism on the field. He is a stiff lineman only effective in confined quarters, but he has a chance to be a backup based on the ability to line up at numerous line positions."
