Routinely is one of the first lineman firing off the football and can quickly get into the chest plate of opposing blockers. Extends his arms well, runs his legs and can create a consistent put inside. Lacks ideal balance through contact and again looks a little tight and will fall off blocks.
However, he takes good angles on his initial surge and routinely gets into defenders at the point. Also, is quick to pull out of his stance, takes good angles from the backside, can get into the second level and seals well on contact.
Better blocking in tight areas when on the move, but has the range to at least get a piece of his target in space and works hard to finish. A definite "plus" as a run blocker.
However, he will struggle in the pass game. He doesn't have the same type of anchor inside when trying to hold the point of attack and he gets a bit upright, looks short armed and struggles to protect himself on his punch. He lacks ideal shuffle-and-slide ability through contact as well.
He doesn't have the range to make up for a false step and can initially be overwhelmed on contact, and struggles to re-gain balance and slide. He exhibits the first step quickness to initially get out of his stance and reach defenders off his frame. However, he isn't real heavy handed and struggles to stay engaged and stick.
Impression: A plus run blocker who will need to be hidden in the pass game. Exhibits good initial quickness, but is a bit of a linear player who will need to play in tight areas in order to be successful inside in the NFL. Needs to add some anchor strength as well, but his run blocking ability should allow him to make a roster and fight for playing time down the line."
Uses his hands to fend off defenders rather than jolt.
Pops out of his stance urgently, but is relatively inexperienced and still developing his eyes and a feel for the position."
Can get out and make a block in space; also will battle in pass-protection but technique can be refined; does a nice job, though, of sliding around pocket picking up blitzers, but can be bull-rushed by big DTs."
