However, he isn't the most flexible of kids in the hips, tends to hunch his back at times in his stance and gets upright initially off the football. When he gets upright in the run game, he doesn't have the ability to create any movement.
Isn't real explosive and doesn't have a real snap off the ball, even when he keeps his pad level down and is at his best simply taking proper angles, extending his arms and sticking through contact. Demonstrates solid short area quickness when asked to reach blocks and step and seal.
However, his lack of range/athleticism shows up on the move. He struggles to reach at the second level and looks tight trying to breakdown on contact.
Exhibits some natural coordination in the pass game out of his stance on his kick slide. Isn't the rangiest of pass blockers and swings his arms in order to generate momentum. However, he can keep his base under him and stays somewhat compact toward the edge.
Is a decent puncher, keeps his hands inside, doesn't create much pop on contact but protects his chest plate. Nevertheless, he gets upright into contact, struggles to keep his base down and gets caught with his knees locked.
Doesn't look real fluid when trying to mirror in space or through contact and is routinely forced to lunge into pass rushers after initial contact, run his legs and try to push them past the QB. Possesses decent initial anchor strength, but pad level routinely rises and can be pushed into the backfield.
Impression: Is a seasoned kid with experience and toughness. However, I can't see him winning consistently in the run game to warrant a starting spot as a right tackle in the NFL. At best a reserve only who I personally see more as a free agent than late round pick."
Has an adequate base when his fundamentals are in place, but is dependent upon hand placement and extension to succeed. Carries his hands low and is stressed to the outside, though he does show a quick, strong initial punch.
Exposed in space — oversets and cannot recover. Will have to add bulk to his frame and increase his play strength to fight for a job as a reserve right tackle."
