He isn't real explosive off the snap, not wasting much motion getting into defenders, but he struggles with balance. He extends his arms well into contact, but doesn't keep his base under him and is quick to fall off blocks in-line.
He's better suited on the move, exhibiting good coordination pulling/reaching targets off his frame. He routinely takes proper angles, sinks his hips into contact when trying to seal and extends his arms and works his legs through contact when trying to seal on the edge. He's much better suited as a move blocker.
Does a nice job keeping his pad level down when releasing into his route, but just doesn't generate much of a burst down the field.
Is slow to get on top of linebackers quickly and isn't the caliber of athlete who can threaten the seam. Exhibits a little short area quickness in and out of his breaks in tight areas, and does a nice job changing gears in order to set up defenders and can initially create some separation.
However, he isn't the type of athlete who is overly rangy when asked to go get the football, looking tight hipped when trying to snap off routes at full speed, and tends to really glide his way into his route.
He doesn't exhibit much of a second gear and, despite his above-average hands, doesn't have a ton of range off his frame to snap and come down with the ball.
Impression: A coordinated pass catcher who will struggle to separate in the NFL and isn't dominant enough as a blocker to warrant a spot as a reserve type tight end prospect."
Struggles to sustain at the line and adjust to movement in space, too often lunging, overextending and losing balance.
Straight-line runner after the catch with no wiggle, acceleration or burst.
Could provide depth in a camp."
