Possesses some natural flexibility when asked to sit into his stance in pass protection. Displays good footwork, bend and coordination initially out of his stance, but at times will struggle with speed and is forced to open up his frame prematurely in order to lunge into blocks. Exhibits good mirror/lateral ability when asked to redirect and looks natural extending his arms and keeping defenders from getting into his frame. However, lacks ideal upper body strength and struggles to lock out. Relies solely on his lateral ability and lacks the ability to hold off defenders once they gain a step on him. Is easily bullied and shed if he doesn't keep his frame in front of his man.
Impression: Isn't real physical and doesn't quite seem to have the athleticism to make up for it. Is a guy who I would take a shot on as a developmental free agent in training camp, but not worthy of a draft pick."
Positive: Underrated blind side pass protector with terrific size and athleticism. Fluid athlete who moves well and shows the ability to slide out off the edge in pass protection. Makes good use of angles, easily adjusts, and anchors at the point of attack. Keeps his feet moving, stays square, and controls defenders once engaged in a block. Consistently plays with leverage, keeps his head on a swivel, and works until the whistle blows.
Negative: Must improve his blocking balance. Ducks his head and bends at the waist. Does not always correctly places hands into defenders. Must improve his run blocking.
Analysis: Stingily fell under the radar screen prior to last season but showed enough skill in 2010 to get mid-round consideration."
