Positive: Accurate short and intermediate passer with a nice feel for the position. Patient in the pocket, surveys the field, and does not make poor choices. Does a terrific job commanding the offense. Nicely places passes and lets receivers run to the ball. Always finds the safety. Displays an outstanding sense of timing. Stands in the pocket and will take hits to get the ball away.
Negative: Struggles getting outside the pocket to make throws on the move. Possesses an average arm and really cannot put speed on throws.
Analysis: Bolles is a timing and touch quarterback who's done a terrific job commanding the offense the past two years on a small college level. He's a good game manager but lacks the pure physical skills to be anything other than a practice squad player in the NFL."
He redshirted in 2006, and was used only sparingly in a reserve role in 2007 and 2008. Took over as the full time starter in 2009, and began to really flourish, leading Northwest Missouri to a National Champioship. Had his best statistical game during his senior season which came to an end in a bitingly cold national semi-final game at UM-Duluth, when he threw three interceptions in a 17-13 loss.
Strengths: Very productive at the DII level. Enough size and arm strength for the next level. Stands tall and delivers under pressure. Has been solid in big games, and does not force the ball. Has gotten better every year. Can run and escape pressure. Seasoned and smart. Late bloomer who has some upside left.
Weaknesses: Tends to rely on what the defense gives him too much, and thus does not display his talents. Is not a good bad weather QB. Can get rattled and will occasionally fixate on a receiver and fail to go through the progression. Has not proven it against top college DBs.
Projection: Priority UDFA at worst, who could surprise in a camp as he does have the physical tools and mindset."
