5100/220
Processing Speed ~ How Rapidly & Effectively they Read & React to the rapidly changing LandScape in front'f'm
Power ~ How forcefully they Run the Ball
Acceleration ~ I don't give a Rat's Ass about "40" Time. How Quickly do they Hit The Hole & Turn the Corner?
Fluidity ~ How Serpentine he flows through Traffic.
Ricochet ~ How Explosively they Burst out'f their Breaks when they Change Directions
Security ~ How reliably he holds onto the PigSkin
Pass Blocking ~ Can they stay on the field without endangering their QuarterBack's Life?
Pass Receiving ~ Are they a true Dual Threat ~ what I call a FlexBack?
I think that deploying a Feature Back is a ridiculously stupid way to go: You'll get much better results if your HalfBacks aren't constantly battered and bruised. It's the most punishing Position in the entire Game, as evidenced by the notoriously short Shelf Lives of HalfBacks ~ especially Feature Backs.
As such, it makes no sense to me to have less than 3 reasonably capable HalfBacks to share the Load.
After all: That's about 400-500 Tackles they need to absorb, each Year.
Nobody's asking any "Wide Receivers" to absorb 400 Tackles a Year, last I checked!!
And most of those are at the hands of 200 Pound CornerBacks, not 300 Pound Gorillas!!
And as it's quite obviously best for the Team to split up the Carries, it stands to reason that most HalfBacks simply don't warrant 1st Round Investments...with some few notable exceptions!!
Power ~ Outstanding. Michael is a real Beast. He moves Piles, churns out Yards, and is really tough to Tackle.
Acceleration ~ Phenomenal. Gets up to Speed quickly and explodes through the Line.
Ricochet ~ Incredible. Deadly, cutting back across the Field. Redirects rapidly and explosively.
Fluidity ~ Awesome. Like a Snake, out there...A 220 Pound Snake.
Security ~ Horrible. Really bad form. Prone to Fumble.
Pass Blocking ~ Tremendous. Great Core Strength and great Form.
Pass Receiving ~ Adept. Hands Catcher.
Drafting Christine Michael would be like drafting Sampson, but playing every Game at SuperCuts.
Christine Michael is the most dynamically talented HalfBack of this entire Draft, Bar None.
He is also almost certainly the one that is off more Team's boards all together than any other HalfBack.
What's interesting, though, is that I couldn't find anything definitive regarding his allegedly having spent his Senior Season in the DogHouse. There was a 1 Game Suspension, yes, but no details as to why: only rumors.
As for supposedly being in the DogHouse all Year, maybe he was and maybe he wasn't, but the facts are that he was recovering from a torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament, he got stuffed consistently on Opening Day, and he wasn't the best fit for the Air Raid Offense being run...
It may simply've been a combination of those things, rather than the alleged DogHouse.
As for the Interviews he missed, that was really bad.
Don't get me wrong: I'm not suggesting that there aren't enormous Question Marks about this kid.
Quite the opposite.
Just food for thought.
As for'is Health, it's a concern, but, like the Character Questions, possibly overstated: He's had two major Injuries, and these cost'm big chunks of two consecutive Years, and as ACL Injuries always need 12-18 months to fully recover Form from, they essentially cost'm his leading Role in the third Year.
But it's quite clear, what with'is magnificent Combine Numbers that he is indeed back to 100%.
And when he's healthy, he's amazing.
He's not enough of a Receiving Threat to be a FlexBack, which impinges his Value, in my view, but he's such an amazing Beast of a Runner, and he's an awfully good Blocker as well as a decent Receiver. As such, if I was Grading him without regard to Risk, I'd be sorely tempted to give'm a 1st Round Grade.
As it is, I suspect that the later he gets drafted ~ meaning the less he Gets Paid and the more he has to overcome to get Downs ~ the more likely he'll be to attain his considerable Potential.
Value!!
