Greetings, Fellow FootBall Fanatics!!
Well, it seems that my Scouting Report Hiatus lasted for about 5 minutes. I had intended to limit my indulgence in this beloved obsession to merely forging a Mock Off Season/Mock Draft as the phantasmagorical General Manager of the Patriots. I should've known better, because it was precisely that pursuit, begun back in 2010, that led me, starting in 2011, to start publishing my own Scouting Reports...and so I found myself, once again, drawn into the embrace of my obsession.
Well, it seems that my Scouting Report Hiatus lasted for about 5 minutes. I had intended to limit my indulgence in this beloved obsession to merely forging a Mock Off Season/Mock Draft as the phantasmagorical General Manager of the Patriots. I should've known better, because it was precisely that pursuit, begun back in 2010, that led me, starting in 2011, to start publishing my own Scouting Reports...and so I found myself, once again, drawn into the embrace of my obsession.
"They", of course, are the voices inside my head.
The format has changed dramatically, mind you, including some colossal changes:
01 ~ Rather than produce 250 or so files, I am producing one: an all-inclusive Excel spreadsheet ~ a Grid ~ of all Reports.
02 ~ My Scouting Reports have transmogrified from the longest on the Internet to the shortest ~ one-liners. Literally.
My involvement at both of my Jobs ~ both of which I love ~ is ramping up considerably, starting this very week, as are some other things that I'm working on. I am therefore wrapping things up on this year's inaugural Grid, so my Defensive Back Scouting Reports will be even briefer than those extraordinarily compact Scouting Reports of the other Skill Sets.
I am shameless enough to hope that this will be the last time that I don't complete every Scouting Report by the end of Draft Week, even though I've never managed to attain that goal in 9 frantic years of doing this!
As for the format, I plan on expanding it, going forward, but I rather like this compressed format, which forces a brevity upon me that one or two folks over the years has suggested doesn't come to me all that easily. :)
I am obviously effusive by nature ~ "long-winded", to you Earthlings :) ~ but I've conversely always enjoyed a compressed, compact delivery of information, and I love its being all packaged on one click in one easily navigable file.
I look forward to continuing to travel this journey through life without having divested myself of the greatest part of my beloved obsession...and to sharing this aspect of that journey with you, my Fellow FootBall Fanatics.
