Positive: Small, elusive ball carrier with terrific instincts. Displays top running vision, immediately finds the running lanes, and quickly gets through them. Runs low to the ground, gets lost behind blockers, and patiently waits for running lanes to develop. Loses little momentum changing direction. Shows patience carrying the ball.
Negative: Possesses just a short burst of speed and cannot beat defenders into the open field. Can be brought down by a single defender.
Analysis: Robinson was a consistent producer on the college level but lacks the pure size/speed numbers to be anything other than a rotational back at the next level."
Strengths: Complete back who can run, catch and block. Good athlete with a tough, compact build and a naturally low center of gravity. Runs with built-in leverage and has surprising power/tackle-breaking ability for a man his size. Excellent balance and nice stop&start ability. Patient runner with good vision, and hits holes hard and fast when they open. Good initial acceleration. Deceptive moves and can make people miss, but doesn't do a lot of dancing. Prefers to run inside, but can get to the outside. Has excellent hands as a receiver, lines up all over the formation and is an adept, polished route runner. Tough run blocker who hits his man with pop, and is excellent in blitz pickup.
Weaknesses: Not big and doesn't quite weigh 200lbs, and may not have the frame to add much more weight/muscle mass. Lacks elite top-end speed.
Projection: Prototypical third-down back who should find a home in the NFL. A bit under the radar, even in a weak RB class, perhaps because the Big 12 has the top four senior backs in the nation. Has another year of eligibility left, but is ready and should come out. Mid/late round pick, but a fine football player who will make a team and contribute."
